The Adelie penguins in our Time-Lapse today seem to be in a rush — and with good reason. Many of these Antarctica natives travel up to 13,000km (8,100 mi) every year, migrating from breeding colonies to winter foraging grounds and back again. The Adelie is also a highly accomplished swimmer, diving to depths of 575ft (175 m) in search of krill, their favourite food.

Come join the colony in Antarctica as they prepare for another journey.
