The city of Ushuaia sits on the shores of the Beagle Channel where the Martial Mountains descend from Tierra del Fuego.

As the planet’s most southern city, many travellers pass through on their way to or from Antarctica. Those who pause a little longer will find a hub of outdoor adventure activities: hiking, sailing, skiing, kayaking and even scuba diving can all be found here, just minutes from the town.

Ushuaia also boasts a long history, with the first settlers moving into the area over 10,000 years ago by British missionaries looking to set up their colony. Today, the flow of vessels bound for Antarctica cause the city to bustle with life. But the towering forces of nature above and below serve as a constant reminder of how small we really are.
