Sailing Sri Lanka

Beaches, Buddhas, and beauty everywhere

When you’re able to pry your eyes away from the jaw-dropping beaches, you’ll notice something sleepy and magical while sailing along the coast of Sri Lanka. A little further north you’ll find more travellers and the modernity that follows, while elsewhere the rural, undiscovered feel is still palatable. From fishing villages hauling in the daily catch, to UNESCO World Heritage Sites that satisfy your inner archaeologist, that off-the-beaten-path is alive and well.

*12 passenger boat will be used on the ASVM. 8 passenger boat will be used on ASVT and ASVJ.

The 12-passenger boat has an additional two bunk bed cabins on the Main Deck, with en suite bathrooms and a window. There is an on-board covered area for dining, an upper sun deck, and forward netting for relaxing.

Crew

Sri Lanka sailing adventures are staffed by a qualified skipper, a local cook/first mate and a G Adventures CEO. Your on-board team knows Sri Lanka extremely well and are passionate about sharing hidden secrets with their "crew”. Our cook is also very welcoming and more than happy to give informal cooking classes, while your delicious meals are being prepared in the ship's galley.

A peek inside our catamaran

With two hulls instead of one, catamarans offer a unique twist on the traditional cruise experience. Our 53-footers handle like yachts (as you’ll find out should you opt to take over for the skipper for a spell), and with just 8 passengers spread across ample lounging-about space, they offer a comfortable and intimate way to travel.

A memorable wild side

Sri Lanka’s southern coast is home to populations of playful dolphins, humpback whales, and blue whales, depending on the season. The island also has jungles and wildlife reserves where elephants and jaguars like to hang out.
